Lauren and Andrew's Romantic Gloster House Destination Wedding in Ireland

A Love Story Set in Ireland’s Heartland

In the heart of Ireland's Midlands, Gloster House, a stunning Georgian mansion, served as the picturesque venue for Lauren and Andrew's destination wedding. As their wedding videographer in Ireland, capturing the essence of their love story in such a historic and beautiful setting was a truly unforgettable experience.

Meet Lauren and Andrew: A Match Made in Healthcare

Lauren and Andrew, both hailing from the East Coast of the US and united by their profession as physiotherapists, chose Ireland for their wedding, drawn by Lauren's Irish heritage. Their Gloster House wedding, set against the backdrop of the Slieve Bloom mountains, was a celebration of love, blending their families' Catholic and Jewish traditions into a personalised ceremony.

This Georgian House, with its extensive gardens, terraces, and water features, provided a magical setting for their special day. Originally purchased for restoration, the mansion's transformation into a wedding venue was unintentional but serendipitous, offering couples like Lauren and Andrew a unique and exclusive place to celebrate their union.

The couple envisioned their romantic Irish wedding day to be relaxed, focusing on spending quality time with their loved ones rather than being the centre of attention. This laid-back atmosphere was evident from the start, with both the bride and groom preparing on-site alongside their bridal party, enjoying a stress-free morning filled with laughter and anticipation.

A Day to Remember: The Wedding Ceremony

Blessed with beautiful May weather, the day unfolded perfectly. The drinks reception allowed guests to bask in the sunshine, enjoying the venue's stunning outdoor spaces. One of the day's highlights was the couple's first look in the gardens, where they exchanged vows privately, a moment filled with emotion and beauty, and undoubtedly one of the best I've ever had the pleasure to film.

Their intimate ceremony took place in the house's upstairs gallery, adorned with a breathtaking floral arrangement by Parade Flowers. The humanist celebrant crafted a ceremony that beautifully merged their diverse backgrounds, accompanied by music that added to the ambiance.

Celebration and Joy: The Reception

Following the ceremony, guests were treated to a unique reception featuring an oyster bar and a mobile Guinness tap bar, reflecting the couple's tastes and adding a touch of Irish charm. A memorable moment for me was sharing a shot of tequila with the bride and a friend in the bridal suite, a spontaneous and fun break during the festivities.

Gloster House's Apollo, the resident dog, added a homely touch to the day, though he did give the photographer quite a scare, providing a humorous anecdote to remember.

Dinner was set in a beautifully styled room with simple yet elegant greenery, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for the speeches. The celebration continued in the chapel, a versatile space transformed from its days as a school chapel, where DJ4me kept the dance floor alive with a fantastic mix of music, including an ABBA megamix that everyone enjoyed.

Working alongside Adam and Grace Photo, my favourite photography team, added an extra layer of joy to Lauren and Andrew's wedding which was an experience that highlighted the collaborative spirit and creativity that makes capturing such events so rewarding. Having worked with these brilliant photographers numerous times over the years, their presence ensured that every moment was captured with beauty and precision. Adam and Grace's ability to effortlessly blend into the day, capturing candid moments and stunning portraits, complements my videography style, making our teamwork a highlight of the wedding experience.

A Perfect Union

Lauren and Andrew's wedding at Gloster House beautifully concluded in a crescendo of joy and unity, encapsulating their love and the merging of cultures. The day was marked by genuine moments of emotion and connection, resonating with all who attended. As they sealed their vows amidst the stunning Irish landscape, the couple's happiness radiated, epitomizing a perfectly realized celebration of their union.
