The Love Story of Hillary and Ray

Hillary, from Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and Ray, from Greystones, Ireland, have a love story that spans continents. They met when Ray was working in Cape Cod during a J1 summer, and though they didn’t start dating immediately, their connection stayed strong. After years of keeping in touch, they finally started dating and, eventually, Hillary made the move to Ireland to start their life together. Their wedding at Cashel Palace Hotel was the perfect culmination of their journey, a beautiful blend of two cultures and families coming together.

A Two-Day Celebration at Cashel Palace

Hillary and Ray’s wedding at Cashel Palace was much more than a single-day celebration. The festivities began the evening before the wedding with an intimate dinner, followed by a relaxed drinks reception at Mikey Ryan’s Bar, located on the property of Cashel Palace Hotel. This gave the couple and their guests a chance to mingle and relax before the big day. 

The following day, the October sun shone through hazy clouds, creating a warm and inviting autumnal atmosphere, perfect for their Autumn Wedding in Ireland. Cashel Palace's historic elegance and serene surroundings were the perfect setting for this heartfelt celebration.

The Wedding Day: From First Look to First Dance

The wedding day began with a lovely first look in the Hops Garden at Cashel Palace, where Hillary and Ray shared a private, emotional moment before the ceremony. The intimate ceremony itself was held in the garden overlooking the iconic Rock of Cashel, a stunning backdrop that added even more magic to their vows. Officiated by a close friend, the ceremony included personal readings and live music performed by Ray’s talented cousins.

One of the highlights was the surprise flash mob exit, where a few of Ray’s family members, strategically placed in the crowd, got up to play the final song, creating a joyful and spontaneous celebration that left guests beaming.

An Evening of Celebration and Style

As their Cashel Palace Hotel wedding videographer, I had the pleasure of working alongside an incredibly talented team of vendors who helped bring Hillary and Ray’s vision to life. The beautiful floral designs by Harris and Wilkinson and the stunning decor by Gorilla design transformed the ballroom into an elegant and timeless space. The couple was able to preview the ballroom, styled by the amazing Blue Blossom Creative, before their guests entered, and their reaction to seeing it for the first time was priceless.

Hillary looked absolutely radiant in her gown by Suzanne Neville, and the couple’s first dance was preceded by a delightful surprise: Hillary’s sister playing “Piano Man” on the harmonica, which brought everyone to their feet singing along. The live performance by Bentley Boys Band kept the energy high as the night transitioned into a lively celebration on the dance floor.

Capturing the Magic

The entire day was filled with spontaneous joy, heartfelt moments, and laughter, and being there to capture it all as their Ireland wedding videographer was truly a privilege. Working alongside Christina Brosnan, the photographer, we were able to document every precious moment, from the emotional first look to the fun-filled reception.
